Casa della Scuola "Enrico D'Ovidio"

Casa della Scuola "Enrico D'Ovidio" is one of the most beautiful and largest buildings in the "Centro Murattiano" (Modern Centre) of Campobasso and is part of the heritage of the twentieth-century buildings of the city. Before being used as a school, the structure served as a military hospital and refuge for soldiers from the First World War. From 1919 to 2017 it hosted several generations of young people in their first school education. Subsequently, part of the building was transformed into a Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art while on the ground floor it houses the Municipal Bibliomediateca, a place of study and training for citizens. Inside there are some examples of Art Nouveau art, such as wrought iron furnishings produced by the Tucci family, evidence of rational art and commemorative plaques of the First World War.
