Alfonsine Natural Reserve

The natural reserve of Alfonsine is a little regional reserve with an extension of about 12 hectares. It was founded according to the Regional law n.11/88 of Emilia Romagna Region in 1990 and committed to the Municipality of Alfonsine and Cooperativa Atlantide. It consists of three areas and each area has paths and bird observatories that give the chance to see and get in touch with nature and wildlife.

Tourist experience: A day to spend in nature for adults and children, with a guided tour of the pond of the former Violani Furnace, station n. 1 of the Alfonsine Natural Reserve, to discover typical plants and their properties, meet the animals that populate the pond and its banks, including the pond turtle Emys orbicularis. To complete the day, an herbarium activity, which could be the starting point for young (and great) naturalists.
