Piazzetta Palombo

As the inscription says, Piazzetta Palombo was inaugurated in 1896 with the aim of creating an organized space for the market and exhibition of goods brought by farmers from the surrounding countryside.
Originally called Piazza dei Commestibili, it was built entirely with bricks. It has two entrances, one located along Via Marconi and the other on Via Palombo. The internal perimeter has arcades under which there are small shops. The corridor behind the square was reserved for the fish market, now houses the cycle station of bicycles and scooters.
Currently in the square there are some craft shops, is also the place of cultural events and concerts in the heart of the city.
