Savoia Theatre
The history of the theatre begins at the end of the eighteenth century, from that moment on, masonry and wooden buildings were built and then destroyed due to fire or insufficient maintenance.
In the twenties of the twentieth century a new and definitive theatre was realized, it was called "Teatro Sociale". The interior was decorated with frescoes by the local artist Arnaldo De Lisio, stained glass windows by Giovanni Vincenzo and wrought iron works by Giuseppe Tucci. The inauguration took place in 1926 with the performance of the Tosca by Giacomo Puccini. In honor of the Kings of Italy the name of the theatre changed in the actual one, Teatro Savoia. In 1993 the Provincial district of Campobasso acquired the theatre and began a redevelopment project. The external structure has simple and regular lines and the decorative elements in wrought iron shows floral motifs in elegant Art Nouveau style.
